Observations

Sometimes reading your email is one of the most happening and happiest moments of your day. The reason? When friends offer more than you anticipate bringing a smile to your face in the midst of any problems. The bottom line "u can count on your old friends with young hearts!" yeah I believe I now have friends who are much more supportive than anyone of my many acquaintances combined :-)

Everyone I know asks me why I like baseball. When I tell them its not just about the sport, they tell me yeah its all about the players making money. It is more than that. It is the management of money by a team like how a family household manages except with 40 people instead of 4. Here is the breakdown of the family of the Atlanta Braves: “The Braves have said their payroll will once again be around $80 million next year. They are already contractually obligated to seven players -- Chipper Jones, Andruw Jones, Mike Hampton, Bob Wickman, John Smoltz, Edgar Renteria and Tim Hudson -- and they account for $60.33 million (with Hampton's salary prorated) of the payroll. Even if the Braves got Glavine to agree to a bargain-basement $7 million deal, that would leave them approximately $10 million to pay their first baseman, second baseman, left fielder, right fielder, catcher, four bench players, another starting pitcher and six middle relievers. In other words, Glavine isn't coming back to Atlanta unless somebody is traded. Trading Hudson would erase $6 million from the books and force the Braves, heading into the 2008 season, to rebuild their starting rotation again. At 32 years old, Hudson must be looked at as the ace for the future. “

Obviously everyone has heard about the famous political ad featuring Michael J. Fox and his lobbying for the stem cell research last week on Fox during Game 1 of the World Series. After that Mr. Rush Limbaugh’s criticisms made that brought this issue into the attention of national media. Giving an interview with Katie Couric on CBS, here is what Fox had to say. "This is not about red states and blue states," added Fox, who has also lobbied Congress to lift President Bush's restrictions on funding for stem cell research. "This is not about Democrats and Republicans. This is about claiming our place as the scientific leader in scientific research and moving forward and helping our citizens. That's all it is. It's that simple."

Speaking of political ads for the election year, the best ad in the ones I saw so far comes from the state of Tennessee between Ford vs. Crocker. The ad was funded by the Republican Party, have a look at He's Good Looking

Starbucks has one of the best coffees. Why? Because of its coffee beans. Coffee beans worth about 47 million pounds. Starbucks, the coffee beans and the copyright row that cost Ethiopia £47m

National Boss Day is October 16th. The day was made to offer employees an opportunity to recognize those in supervisory positions. Popular ways to say "thanks" include cards, a lunch in the boss's honor, flowers, or gift certificates. Interesting stuff!!

Many of the primetime shows on television don’t catch my attention for longer than two episodes. One exception from my routine contempt towards tv shows is Studio 60. Studio 60 revolves around the scenes of a fictional live sketchy comedy show whose format is similar to SNL. The fictional show in Studio 60 is written by Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford. From its undertones about the racism in Hollywood to a guy whose parents don’t respect his job in tv production, Studio 60 has all the pleasures needed to make the audience feel well acquainted with television production.

John Mark Karr moved to Atlanta into his father's house and eventually moved to a undisclosed location when the neighbors did not especially want him around in their community.

Gwinnett County school district as you all know is famous for rebelling against the norm in Georgia. After the evolution debate, it is now taking on a new project called Harry Potter. According to the AJC, Harry in the potter series contributes to school violence and indoctrinates kids in the wicca religion. In december, the state school board will consider a ban in gwinnett county board which are say Cindarella and Macbeth will be next!

AJC Vents:

"Hey Rush, if you don’t think michael fox's drugs are working for him, why don’t you offer him some of yours?"

"On Halloween, should I dress up as Global Warming or the Bird Flu?"
